To keep things simple I'll use Superman as an example. Superman is an alien and so are these guys (their fox form being the equivalent of guy in cape). However they disguise themselves as humans (equivalent of Clark Kent).
AK Girl's weakness is caramel (kryptonite) causing her to inflate while Wondervixen's is a bit more complicated (essentially she is convinced she is fat, though in the series we reveal there is more to it than that).
