I'm still alive and well! I wish I was better at these journal things, but rest assured I'll be hiring a secretary to keep everyone updated in the future! So for now, eh, I'll do my bestest. You guys have been awesome as always, and the constant support and well-wishes through these trying times is appreciated. I'm in debt to you all. For those who aren't in the loop, a LOT has happened since we last talked. I was involved in a car accident a few months ago. I'm fine, no permanent damage. My car however, not as lucky. I'd like to take a moment of silence to remember all the good times. You are missed dearly...

Mythoi is out and about, and the new origin stories are making their way to your eyes very soon! It's getting bloodier by the panel peeps, and the guys at Semantink are getting as excited as I am about the newest issue! And guess what? The origin stories are FREE! It's been so much hard work, but its paying off. Check it out!

Among other things, my life is currently wrapped up in 4 boxes. I'm getting ready to move out on my own, and start forging my career as an illustrator. Getting that diploma this year has been a major milestone in my life goal, and I'm eager to face the "world". Not sure what that means really, since the world today revolves around Jon and Kate Gosselin's bowel movements. So, I'll be doing just that, only outside the comforts of the house I grew up in. Yay for getting older! And thank you media-world mongers, for constantly enlightening us with the wonderful world of celebrities! Not REAL actors (like Tom Hanks, Merly Streep, Denzel Washington, Russel Crowe, Johnny Depp, and Julia Roberts) but celebrities!


Commissions are still underway, and once things have settled with the Mythoi work, I'll be getting to them asap! God-willing, next week will also be catch-up week for art. I plan of taking my commissions up again full-force, and have been dying to get more challenges in from you guys and gals.


Titans comic. Yes, I want to finish it, but no, I dont know when the next will be done :/

Hi all!

Just here to announce my crazy-new summer job at Sea World! I'm training as a caricature artist. It's a fast-paced, exciting new style, and a way for me to expand my skillz! I'll post a schedule up every week for those brave enough to seek me out. There are different stands throughout the park, so I'll also include the attraction we'll be next to. I figure it'd be a great way to meet some of you guys and gals who have shown me such great support over the last 2 years! AND you are all encouraged to laugh out load at my pictures as it's a sign of me doing my job at the Funny Faces stands! Just look for Jed. And definitely check out the other great talents!

In light of the many new watchers, I thought I'd re-introduce myself!

My name is Jed Soriano, and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer. I'm a graduate of the Art Institute, San Diego-CA, and in the market for steady studio work. I established myself here on DeviantArt in August of 2007, and have been blessed with a fanbase that continues to grow to this day! Again, I can't thank you all enough (even though I make a conscious effort at every possible opportunity). "SeriojaInc" was a spin-off title of the name I first used here "Don Serioja" (in an attempt to keep a bit of anonymity). "Don Serioja" is just "Jed Soriano" scrambled, for those who haven't picked that up yet (like Lord Voldemorte, but without the evilness).

Personal info aside, on to the gallery!

I LOVE to draw. I am possibly addicted to it. Been doing it since I was 7. I consider myself a life-long student of art. As such, I've learned to embrace a myriad of styles, compositioning techniques, anatomies, and color palettes. I make no judgments on the works of others, and therefore expect the same respect returned to me. Yes I draw "expansion" art. Yes I draw "anime" art. Yes I draw "Disney" art. I draw people running, jumping, sitting, flying, floating, rollin', hugging, licking, ticking, loving, bugging, surfing, turfing, fighting, biting!

Why? For many many reasons! And some for no reason at all. Isn't that one of the great things about art? I draw to challenge myself above all other excuses. I draw because it's fun, and engaging, and gives me the opportunity to share my mind-movies. What I draw has very little to do with why I did it in the first place to be perfectly honest. I choose to explore the various subjects in order to stay up-to-date, and not "typecast" into any particular class of artist. Toss me into a situation, and I'll adapt, learn, absorb, replicate, improve, and continue to grow in my knowledge of the art world. That's the idea people. Its a planet full of art just waiting to be found! We can't afford to be too judgmental, lest we miss out on some fascinating new people and ideas. Let my work be an example of the many influences I've found, and a preview of the many more to come!

The 2-year mark is coming up pretty fast, and I've been very happy with how this "2-week experiment" has literally ballooned into this massive artistic under-taking which I'm happy to say has taken over my once boring life! Here's to another great start for 2009!

I am still working on commissions. many have been deemed "private" works by the customers, so they won't be posted here (or anywhere else). I have an updated list, but I want to be 1001% sure I haven't lost anyone in the runnings. SO, if you've already sent payment and have been waiting, please send me a NOTE with your commission order, DA name, and email info(I won't respond to anything on this journal regarding commissions).
